Having some fun on a winter day. Making a racket in the neighborhood with this incredible race bike. Too bad the sound recording is so puny, we all had our fingers in our ears so you know it was LOUD. These bikes were dominant in roadracing not so very long ago. And ,believe me, they're still fast.
`24 Quail Motorcycle Gathering
Once again honored to be among the judges for this most interesting and varied of motorcycle events. This year it was conducted in a deluge of biblical proportions. Rain did not dampen our enthusiasm and it was once again a terrific event. I put this slideshow video using Clipchamp to save time and effort. Feel free to get in touch if you'd like to comment or have me answer any questions.

To save time, I'm now using Microsoft video editor Clipchamp. I think of it as AI for people who don't want to learn how to edit videos. Let me know what you think or if you have any specific questions about the bikes or event. This annual show takes place at the Mayfair grounds in Dixon, CA . Always around Father's Day in June. It is a national event hosted by the Ft. Sutter chapter of the Ant...

I've had this great little scooter since the early `80's. Fortunately, it's found a new home with Steve down in the CA Central Coast. I'm going to miss my little Saigon scooter but it's time for someone else to take good care of her.
``23 Honor Flight

Just a small portion of the highlights from our veterans Honor Flight to our nation's capital. This was a much-appreciated welcome home that we never got after our service. Sometimes emotional and very moving, sometimes comical in the way veterans would make light of whatever they could. It was a three day, 2 night gift from Bay Area Honor Flights never to be forgotten. My sincere thanks to all...

A fine gathering of the clan occurred in Winthrop, WA this summer solstice. Near North Cascades National Park. You couldn't ask for better scenery, weather & people. 4 full days of Norton camaraderie. As good as it gets. Thanks to one and all for working so hard to pull this together.

Happy to once again be among the judging committee. Assigned this time to Off Road Competition for a nice change of pace for me. Joan and I decided to splurge and stay 3 nights at the lodge for full immersion in this unique festival of all things motorbike related. Daughter Nina, was able to use Amtrac for a ride down to join us for her 1st ever Quail experience. Nice weather & good food all we...

1 Up Power Sports in Dixon CA opened their beautiful Northern, CA ranch this gorgeous April day, to vintage trials enthusiasts. This was the first ever AHRMA event there, I'm confident it won't be the last. Huge fun for all involved. Thank you Lawson family and everyone that helped make this event great.

Finally, it took a heat wave, but I've been meaning to add this video to my channel ever since I came home from this once in a lifetime trip on the18th of Jan., 2023. I am so proud of having done this incredible trip into a part of Viet Nam I had never been to before. With the company of several local bike riding friends from NorCal and a dozen or so new friends, I pulled this off right before ...

This is how we roll on a gorgeous late November Saturday in the winding Sacramento Delta. Ride in, eat lunch, BS , bask in the sun and ride out! Great to see this group of friends enjoy an eclectic mix of old, new, custom & special build motorbikes stopping for a bite to eat in Courtland. Reminds me of the old Kawasaki advertising campaign: "Let the Good Times Roll". Happy Holidaze, one and all.

`22 Barber Vintage Festival and Birmingham, AL

This year's visit to Birmingham, AL and the Barber Vintage Festival was among the best ever. After a bit of a scary, totally unnecessary, deplaning incident caused by a rude passenger that led to many missed flights and an over 2 hour standoff, we finally left SMF. Another splendid gathering of the faithful in and around Birmingham, AL for the 17th Barber Vintage Festival. Incredible fall weath...
2022 Dixon, CA AMCA show & swap meet

Another great Northern CA motorbike event has returned after a 2 year covid absence. Somewhat smaller than prior years but not much. Highlights for me , as always was saying hi to so many friends and acquaintances , along with 3 immaculate Crocker's and a couple of early Monarch's for good measure. Lots of projects traded back and forth among the vendors. And the weather took a surprising turn ...

pretty cool
So the bike was brought new, stripped of all the lights, and anything else that was not needed , and then thrashed through the Desert , just love these P11 😉
Not exactly. This bike was expedited by Norton to the North American distributor and then forwarded to ZDS motors in Glendale, CA and then given to Mike to modify and race. This bike was never titled and was always a race bike.
Amazing
Best colour too 👍👍👌👌🍻🍻
My first adult motorcycle was my brother's hand me down 1972 blue and white 650 tiger.
Nice bike!
Nice Jerry! John O
I like the fact that this man knows how to start a Commando, on it's wheels, not using the side stand or centre stand. Bravo.
Jesus he must be a top mate.
I had an XT500 I know this routine
Great video. Just like to say my farther had a Vincent black shadow he was only 8 and half stone but he could start it up. If didn't know how to start a Vincent up you never get it started up. You got to be showing how to start it. Thank you for this video mate nice Vincent you have here
Just looked at this bike at Barber Museum, awesome to see in-person! Thanks for sharing with us!
Love ittttt 👍❗
Jerry thanks for this. I was in DC for veterans day and it was so crowded I missed alot. Where were the statues of the soldiers marching with the rain coats on? You look great in front of the Wall. Loren
Hi Lorin. The statue soldiers in their rain ponchos was at the Korean war memorial on the capital mall, not far from the Lincoln memorial. Hope you have a mild winter.
Beautiful bike
Pretty cool. These days if I had to right shoulder arms, It would take me a minute to figure out which one is my right!
I bought a new RZ500 in 1985 and I still have it. It's in near mint condition.
Looks like a great rally. Thanks Jer. Loren in Illinois

May I ask to be considered for another like this? What is the process? Thanks
Sorry, I'm not likely to ever have another. You'll have to look to others to find one. Use the internet.
I really enjoyed that. You picked some great vintage bikes. I liked that military Canadian Triumph 3TA and those three Crocker's, outstanding motorcycles.
What a great job you did, enjoy ridding it.
Achei que ia terminar o vídeo e não ligaria a moto...
I'm Megan's dad of 73 years and this video is the first bike I owned. Road to and from work and took it off. Road occasionally. Ran great . But only did 70 mph flat out. Expressway riding was out of the question back then. City riding was great. Thanks for the memory. Alan Williamson
Love it Jerry ,you are like this little boy on his first bike on Christmas day. enjoy
Cool , that is an extremely chunky front wheel tire combo .
Stompin toms still alive as a auctioneer lol
What would his britten look like today if he was still here ?masterpiece
You got some great shots, Jerry. Great seeing you again and thanks for sharing!
Thanks Corey. We did have a ball didn't we? Your Quail album is awesome as well. I'm always amazed to see myself in other peoples photos. Looking forward to our next event together.
lovely, my father had one. Own a guzzi myself. But very decent bike. Sound was different than I remembered. Bit lighter. Love the snorring and burping and sputtering after the start.
She looks and sounds great!
Linda moto.👍
A real stunner! Thank you for posting sir.
No sound. Or is it just me? Oh wait, sound came on at 2 minute mark. What a beauty!
It's messed up, my daughter helped me shoot this using a new to her video editor...lo and behold there's no sound in the composite video. It will kick in later but I'm probably having to redo all of it. Ugh!
Very nice!
HAHA! I THINK THAT MIGHT BE MY FATHERS P-11. I might be wrong but I remember my dads P-11 had a hammered markings on one of the exhaust pipe just like yours in the 42nd second of your clip. I know cause I am the idiot that did it as a teenager if it is the same bike?. I painted my dads frame silver. The bike when I sold it in 2008 had cafe bars and a cafe seat. I still had the original seat and front fender and I gave the buyer a newspaper clipping stating my dad was the owner of Motorcycle sales and service Grass Vally California in the 1960's. I believe the Matchles G85 frame might have been bent prior my dad assembling the bike?. Some of my 1st memories still in my diapers as my dad assembled that bike. The bike also had a magneto and I do not believe th Magneto was original. My dad told me so many stories about that P-11. He raced it for years got a lot of 2nds but never a 1st place he got close though. He was 6' 5" tall and the G85 frame fit him. He road that bike through out the mountains around Grass valley California and later altered it for the streets, he said it was an excellent on the street. Anyway is their a chance that that is my dads old P-11? If it is that would be great to know a really good mechanic fixed it up proper! I sold it in 2008 and I sold it with the trailer. I do not remember the guy but I gave him as much information and equipment left over as possible. I live in Mather California outside of Sacramento Ca. Every time I look at an old P-11 I wonder if its my dads old bike but the hammer marks, magneto and silver frame says maybe? Please reply curiosity is killing me!
Wow. Sounds entirely possible that it may have been your fathers. Feel free to get in touch with me directly. I'm in Davis, not that far away. I'm also a veteran that volunteers to drive other Yolo county vets out to Mather VA hospital for their appointments. Small world, right? Happy I saw your comments. The new owner would be interested to know its prior history. 530-902-1670 voice or text.
Beautiful bikes, I was at the '82 rally. (It shifts on the right, right?)🏍

She came out great, Jer! Nice work!
There was a guy named Howard in San Fran in the 70s who rode a P11. Was that him you gave a shout out to?
When I lived in SF in `71 there was a guy named Harold that had a P11 and we rode together. He was fast as hell often being 1st to Inverness on the infamous Sunday morning ride. But no that's not the Howard I'm referring too as the owner of this bike. Curious, do we know each other? Thanks for looking.
@@jerrykap44 Yeah we know each other. We used to ride in the Sacto area in the 90s. Gene.
Sounds healthy!
Nice one Jerry! I had a P11 back in in the 70s. What a monster!!!
